Everyone: “It’s sad CPC might close. I hope someone saves it.”

I've heard the Hispania clay chip equipment is floating around out there somewhere. No one has done anything with it. That doesn't portend well for the disposition of CPC. @STuDioSuRFiNG has said the equipment is probably at the end of it's usable life. Also not good. If anything is done with it, I wish they'd find a way to eliminate the annoying brass dust from the formula (if that's even possible). As a person who is "into" chips for a long time, I lament the loss of another compression clay chip manufacturer.
I have to admit there is a very large group on the other "Chip forum" and they may very well distribute the cost of acquisition among that number and buy the thing. But if not done EXACTLY right, eventually you'll have a lot of "investors" later claiming they were ripped off.
I also keep in mind the history that ASM was sold to another person and he ran it into the ground. Then it was acquired by Spragg and co. So these things have to be done EXACTLY right. Anyone named Endy around?
I think the Endy's are done with the business anyway, but I sure did love the Blue Chip Company formulation for clay chips. They and TRK were so, so good. Paulson isn't bad either, but you can't (or not supposed to be able to) buy from them. Although Paulson's clay formula is a little on the soft side of the other two I mentioned.
Why do I still care about these things? I guess I'm really a chip freak. But I'm realizing that Tina, especially the "cap dash" hybrids are not only acceptable but pretty good. As good as compression clays? Probably not, but I'm accepting of them. Sorry about the long lament, but damn, I hate seeing the craft seemingly come to an end.

PCFers can't agree on what color the fucking sky is. I truly hope someone buys this all and figures it out, but anything over 5 "cooks in the kitchen" and I have my doubts.

Totally agree. It’s too bad the last place for regular folks to buy custom clay chips will be going away.

Lots of people probably thinking they can half-ass their way to gaining access to the production side of chipping. But if it were easy and profitable, it wouldn’t be shutting down in the first place. Probably more of a headache than it’s worth. If it’s even salvageable at all.

To be more positive, perhaps the demise of CPC "may" move the people at Paulson (Angel?) to consider the home market again. They do have the Blue Chip equipment and they'd be the only manufacturer left. Yeah, I know.. "keep dreaming".
I keep thinking that a controlled source may be acceptable to Paulson. I have suggested before if they would sell through someone like Apache or another trusted vendor, they wouldn't have to deal with the end customer, setup a "home chips" website or anything. Unless they are operating at 100% capacity, why wouldn't they consider this?
Even if they don't allow completely custom, small run orders they could still sell to said vendor who can come up with their own "line" (like the Avalon or Private Cardroom or Le Noir) and run a decent quantity order.

Agreed there! To many cooks in the kitchen theory is in full force when it would come to this. Plus they'd all have to agree to who runs it, who controls the books etc. There may also be a mindset amongst some that now they have their own private supply and run it like some run the scam IAGB buys...... Then the clouds would get really dark.

Why can’t we get the old TRK formula and colors back from the later unleaded stuff like TRK deadwood’s and king crown
Redo it all to that clay makeup and better colors and you have a start

You needed to ask to find that out
I’m sure he’s asking 10x what it’s worth
Maybe he would finally update chip club related sites to current if he sold that

No
He wouldn’t

Wait for them to get desperate and try to auction it
