What do you guys do to deal with the battery on the motherboard dying? The first time this happened I put in a replaceable battery. Now its time to replace it again...are there better long term solutions?

Ahhh yes the stay alive battery! I soldered in a battery holder also so I didn't have to solder in new batteries! Yes a PITA when they die out but those machines were made to run 24/7 so there was no down time like us home users where it sits shut off for weeks or months!
Do you have the ram clear chip I assume?
I have 3 S+ machines that get no love since the Light and Wonder Install complimented by the Helix + with Buffalo Gold!
I’ve got the ram clear chip yes. I’d love to put a little wall adapter in there and just forget about it!
3v DC transformer, that would prolly work! Positive and negative would be important not to kill the machine.
