Coolest Single You Own and Why

My guess is that the Nevada Club Reno was pretty well known as the working class’s casino. I don’t think it was frequented by many high rollers during its time like the Nevada Lodge in Tahoe.

I’m not so sure these chips ever made it into circulation actually but my guess is the numbering of them was intended as a security measure.

I think these two are my two favorites ATM. Both because of the black and yellow colors (I collect “bumblebee” singles). State Line because I like the hotstamp T-mold. Dutch Inn because it just “feels” vintage, with a simple, aged label. No idea if it actually is old or not.

Makes sense, I imagine - to your point the $500’s didn’t hit the tables all that much.

It a frickin cool chip!!

This is now the coolest single I (will) own, it's on the way from Spinetti's:

Why it's the coolest single I'll own is because it will be the ONLY single collectible chip I own (aside from a few "run of the mill" casino chips). Also because the Sands was the home of the Rat Pack. I loved Dean Martin in particular. His real name was Dino Paul Crocetti... I guess it's an Italian thing (see my avatar?).

This is the $25 chip from the Desert Inn, but not from Las Vegas. This was from a tiny town called Contact, Nevada (now a ghost town) on Hwy 93 near the Idaho border between Wells and Jackpot. While this is probably my least attractive chip in poor(ish) condition (takes a bit of lighting to show the relief), it's probably my favorite due to its rarity. Only 50 ever made and I had 38 of them in my possession at one time. I've often wondered what happened to the other 12. I've traded/sold a few at this point and turned down offers for a few others). I would gladly make the yellow $5 my favorite if anyone wants to trade or sell one to me (hint, hint).

Chip numbers: CG255803, TCR#E0306, Book value *Z2 (pretty dang low compared to the MANY higher value chips that were manufactured in much higher quantities)

Really tough one to answer. I think, ultimately, I'll define "coolest" as my favorite chip that I have from my favorite full casino lineup, not to mention easily my favorite red five. Shout-out to Oscar for helping me get the snapper from this set as well!

By itself and as a card-capper next to one of my other absolute favorites:

But….

I’m gonna go with the triple plated, triple crown, TRIPLE GOLD from my hometown Merced California. (I believe I’m the only chipper from Merced)

That one was almost $300... and someone just picked one up at the show for $400. For the record... wouldn't let mine go for face! But also completes my sample

I don't consider myself as a single collector, yet I have a bunch of singles. Ha ha. I don't have them on display like @pokerplayingpisces does at his place anyway. Maybe one day though.

I can't really narrow it down to one best one so I will share a few pics that I have.

Big fan of this one as I love the Dogs playing poker posters etc.

@pokerplayingpisces gave this to me on St. Patrick's Day a few years back. He has given me a few great single chips throughout the years. They all kick ass.

Met my favorite Poker Vlogger Jaman Burton in person in 2018 and he gave me his chip. Very Cool. Super cool guy.
