So we've covered cleaning chips: What about removing "sticky" residue left after removing old labels from ASM (or other chips)?

I've researched cleaning different types of clay chips and gotten great instructions. I'm preparing to clean chips but I've noticed some that were pre-labelled left a sticky residue on the chip (after I removed the labels). Will that come off in the regular cleaning or should I use something like alcohol, or Goo Gone or what?
Any suggestions / previous experiences would be appreciated. I'm working with ASM chips.
