New chip disappointment

So I always look when there’s a post in the CCA new chip release thread here. Seems like every new chip is either plastic (mostly) or RhC. Does no one buy THC chips anymore?? Soooo disappointing.

I think they’re just getting to the price point where casinos don’t or can’t justify paying the price for them because it’s an “aesthetic”. It doesn’t make the game better or they’re odds of getting more money in the door.

If it were up to me, I’d make the nicest looking chips possible at a relatively cheap cost. Make sure people enjoy my chips and then keep coming back.

Just look at Paris LV….. 2022 WSOP moves there and how many racks of the $1s were taken out of there? Fast forward to this year and these are the new chips:

How many of the HS chips do you think were taken out by the rack…….. 0 would be my guess

I seriously think Caesar’s went to GPI and they were probably told to go the cheaper RHC Hot Stamp route to (a) save money and (b) see less chip ‘shrinkage’ at every property

They’re kinda like almond joys or tootsie rolls in your Halloween bag. They’re better than milk duds, but nobody will trade you anything for them -

As I was reading the thread about The Chip Room sale(s), I saw some comments on previous TCR offerings of other chips which included casino chips on the RHC mold. When I saw those sales come up and I noticed they were RHC chips, I immediately put them out of mind for any attempt to buy.

Before hair covered knuckles rain down on me, let me state this is strictly MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION.

I'd guess that as Chip aficionados, we all have our own preferences and dislikes on chips. Mine is that I HATE Paulson RHC mold chips. The hats are too close to the edge of the chip. Any wear...

Face. They're certainly not THC, but I actually really like the stamp design and always have been a fan of the 418/colors of the OG.
