Some of you may remember a plastic chip that came out years ago. It was called "Casino Dice" or "Faux Clay". They were 10 gram chips in solid colors. There was no metal insert inside the chip. They did have an injection mold spot within the ring of the mold. They stacked and handled very well compared to abs chips - almost as good as a clay chip. I don't know exactly what they were made of but it wasn't abs. They had a texture to them and I became a fan pretty quickly. They were cheap and a lot of people got on board with them: So much so, that they formed a fan group on CT called "The Faux Clay Nation". I wound up buying 12,000 of them and sold them off in sets and they went quickly. They didn't have a recessed center and some tried to customize them with laser engraving which seemed to work out pretty well. No edge spots and lack of a recessed center finally got me away from them, but for the price they were great budget chips. Oh yeah, and I don't remember being able to break one with my bare hands, like the "china clays".

Definitely remember the Faux Clay Nation! Never owned any but I remember major group efforts to figure out how to dye them into new colors.

I used to be part of the nation! I am a huge fan of solid-colored chips, so these were right up my alley. But I ended up selling them off many moons ago on the blue board. They were an exceptional value, and honestly, I regret selling them.
