Moving this here, mostly to get the inputs of the great minds and to bring some activity to this lovely oasis.

As some of you have helped, I’ve been on an intentionally long journey towards my next, and last, CPC cash set.

I’ve been inspired by vintage chips, the darker and more muted ones, recognizing that old TRK chips still glow in the dark.

I started with 3916s. The frac and $100 were the cornerstones, with the rules being not to duplicate an existing set base color or use any of the forthcoming limit set colors (lt blue, canary; lt green, DG peach) on the remaining chips.

At the same time, I’m drawn to the 3D14 color combos and eventually settled on the following, sitting on it for almost a year.

Then, on a whim, I bought some yellow TRK nickels- previously owned by Ben- at a bargain, which had me thinking SCrown, and resulted in a few tweaks.

But then, I took a step back. Torn between molds (my DIASQR set not delivered yet), I keep going back to HCE for the texture edge feel (the LCrowns feel odd).

I then landed on this:

And… I like it. While the chips I really wanted, the one that triggered the entire set (lavender/butterscotch)… didn’t make the cut, like at all.

So I’m torn, but here I am.

Waiting until I need to pull the trigger, and hopefully able to get my DIASQR set in hand to get a feel for the mold.

But, really, because I haven’t hosted a NL cash game since 2019, I was going to abandon this all together. That is, until Josh sent me a chip with my 310 hot stamp, and I’ll be damned if it didn’t make me drool (the below photo in no way capturing 4% of the awesomeness).

More to come.

Dang it. Once I started messing around, I opened a can of worms.

I still like the 18s, but wanted to see what a spot progression set looks like. I stumbled on the 1/2 pie and am in love.

Does it matter that I have a 1/2 pie in the limit set?

Would a 1/2 pie frac be jarring against a line of 18s?

(Ignore the 5, that’s a test run for another set.)

While I love the black/peacock combo on the orange $5, I already use blue on the $1. If I move something around and swap color combos to eliminate any duplication, I always end up with one chip I don’t love. Nasty. So now I’m in a spin cycle, trying different combos and what ifs…

I really like the 25¢ and the $1. It’s the $5 that’s most problematic.
